The Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum is an exhibit that features artifacts and history of submarines from 1776, through WWI, WWII, to the modern US submarines of today.
Constructors Hawaii Inc. was selected out of a group of seven candidates to be the general contractor for the renovation and expansion of the Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum and Park. CHI worked closely with the Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum, Griffith Consulting Group, Seattle architects MIG Portico, and MASON on a design assist basis to carefully plan and budget this ambitious and long overdue project.
In 2017, the design assist process started and an approved budget developed in October 2018. The project involves a complete renovation of the existing 10,000 square-foot museum with a 2,000 square-foot extension. It also includes a new structure at the Kaiten Exhibit, enlarging the existing restrooms, a new support building, landscaping and walkways.
