Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children’s (KMCWC) fourth-floor patient rooms were phased to allow patients to still be treated during the construction process. The phasing was broken down into 12 segments that allowed Constructors Hawaii Inc (CHI) to work on two rooms at a time. Although it was a tight and tough schedule, CHI made it happen and completed each phase by their promised deadline. CHI also had to coordinate with the lower-level floors when it came time to install the shut off valves. With the help of the Kapiolani Medical Center staff, the process went smoothly.
The patient rooms were designed to accommodate either one patient or two patients, depending on the size of the room. All rooms have a built in headwall that houses the necessary medical gas to treat patients. The headboard is comprised of 3Form’s acrylic panel that has back lit LED strip lights surrounding it.
Constructors Hawaii Inc enjoys working with Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children and have done several projects for them in the past such as, the playroom interior renovation and the fitness center. Our latest project with KMCWC involves the $8,000,000 renovation of the kitchen and dining center.
