Construction has been a huge part of Colin’s life since he was 5, when his father, Albert Yoshiyama, founded Constructors Hawaii Inc.  His summers were spent working in the office and the field during which time, he realized the demands and the rewards of the construction industry.  Colin studied at the University of California at Berkeley and received his B.S. in civil engineering in 1989.

After graduation, Colin worked as a structural engineer in the Bay Area.  The 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake hit Northern California shortly after he started his new job which gave Colin first hand experience at rebuilding and strengthening buildings in Berkeley, Emeryville, Oakland, and San Francisco.

Colin joined Constructors Hawaii Inc. in 1990 as an estimator and project engineer.  Colin became the Executive Vice President in 1998 and President in 2013.  As President, Colin has maintained the high quality and integrity that Constructors Hawaii Inc. has been known for since 1972.  Colin values the relationships he has made through the years with architects and clients and looks forward to the years ahead.

On the weekends, Colin can be found at IKF karate class getting beat up by his two children, Luke and Brooke, and wife, Chris.  Their newest addition to the family is JJ, adopted from the Humane Society, who demands a walk from Colin every day at 4:30 am.
